		<description><![CDATA[<p>The PES Group in the Committee of the Regions has launched the 3rd edition of its <a target="_blank" href="http://www.pes.cor.europa.eu/solidarity.html">photo competition</a> under the theme "In Search of Solidarity". The competition, organised in the framework of the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.2010againstpoverty.eu/?langid=en">European year for combating poverty and social exclusion</a>, is an opportunity for young Europeans, aged 18 to 30, to have their say on the concept of solidarity and propose concrete solutions to fight poverty. The deadline for submissions is 30th September 2010.</p>]]></description>

<p>112 is the phone number to call emergency services throughout the EU, from fixed or mobile phones, free of charge, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can reach the European emergency number 112 in all Member States of the European Union as well as in Croatia, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, Turkey, Switzerland and Vatican.</p>

		<title><![CDATA[3 digits to remember in case of emergency in the EU: 1-1-2 ]]></title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p>Imagine that you are in an emergency abroad and you cannot remember the national emergency number to dial. Don’t panic, wherever you are in the European Union, you can call the European emergency number 112 to contact all the emergency services - ambulance, fire-fighters and police -. But make sure to call 112 only in case of real threat to life, health, safety, environment or property and when emergency services rapid assistance is needed.</p>
<p>You can use 112 from fixed phones, including payphones, or mobile phones. It is always free of charge and it functions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can reach the European emergency number 112 in all Member States of the European Union as well as in Croatia, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, Turkey, Switzerland and Vatican. The list is non-exhaustive and several additional countries in Europe are implementing the 112. <br />

There's comprehensive detail of SYHA's hostels and the surrounding local area, not to mention a full section dedicated to “Holiday Ideas” from short mini-breaks to action packed activity holidays, or the “Groups and Schools” section which builds on SYHA's many years of experience in organising both enjoyable and educational group holidays and, finally, the latest special offers.</p>
