Today Poland takes over the presidency of the Council of the European Union for a six month mandate.

Concerning the policy for young people, the Polish presidency put forward two priorities: to strengthen the involvement of young people in the democratic process with particular regard to youth mobility through non-formal education and volunteering. The second objective is to increase the cooperation between young people from the European Union and from its neighbouring Eastern European countries through the “Youth in the World” programme.
