This report brings together the results of the different discussions, activities and conferences held in the field of youth under the Belgian EU Presidency. The Belgian Presidency Youth took the initiative to play a role in further implementation of these European developments and seized the moment by putting forward 3 priority themes:
- Youth work;
- Youth and employment;
- European and international policy agendas on children, youth and children’s rights.
Youth Work was supported and developed through various conferences and conventions, finally leading to the ‘Council Resolution on youth Work’ setting out the policy agenda for the coming years to recognise and further develop youth work in Europe. Structured Dialogue remained vital to the Presidency, and was particularly emphasized on the topic of youth employment, upholding the notion that the voice of youth must not be left unheard. A list of recommendations was drawn up on the issue of Youth Employment.
