In believing that quality and education always go together and that youth organisations are key providers of quality education, the European Youth Forum organised an Experts' Conference to exchange good practises.
By gathering different stakeholders, the Conference aimed at seeing how diverse providers can work together to develop standards in quality assurance mechanisms for Lifelong Learning.
EUFED underlined that non-formal education is fundamentally linked to other issues such as social inclusion, equality or sustainable development. Furthermore, it is crucial that policy-makers recognise the quality and potential of non-formal education programmes, e.g. programmes run by youth hostels and provide them with sufficient support.
The conference concluded with the launch of the Non-Formal Education Network website (
www.nfenetwork.eu). Besides being a tool to facilitate capacity building of youth organisations, the website will also be the place where all stakeholders can find all the information on non-formal education offer provided by youth organisations and on how they guarantee quality to young people.
