The Calypso initiative of the European Commission aims to open up new horizons for younger and older travellers, disabled people and low-income families, while creating new jobs and business opportunities during quieter times of the year.
The first Calypso workshop of 2011 was held on 14th and 15th June in Vuokatti, Finland. The workshop was organized by the Commission in collaboration with the Kainuu region and the team of "Able Access for All Exchange" (AAAE), one of the winning projects of the call for projects Calypso in 2010.
EUFED’s Operating Director chaired a workshop to present one of the projects that were approved by the call for proposals 2010: “Social tourism Opportunities in Wellness and Leisure activities, SOWELL”. The project aims at fostering the development of sustainable social tourism during low season periods in the sector of wellness and leisure-spa activities for young people.
The second Calypso workshop will be held in Portugal on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th October.
