Environmental features
1. Reconstruction of the Hostel: using ecological criteria for buildings (e.g. energy conservation):
- Photovoltaic cells,
- Solartermic-installation
- Water-saving devices in the dormitories and kitchen
- Rainwater flushing toilets
- A display showing the hostel's energy-generation (for educational purposes)
2. Educational.
All programmes are guided by the concept of the "environmental study place".
They offer over 12 programmes according to different subject (sun-energy, water, wood, healthy nutrition, music, media, outdoor activities near the hostel. In some of the programmes the reconstruction of the building itself becomes a focal point to learn what is possible in terms of saving energy.
