Disabled accessible wing in HI Ein Gedi Hostel, Israel

2015.05.18

The new wing has 18 rooms that are especially adjusted to disabled guests. It is a first of its kind wing in Israel, hopefully first of many to come.

The Ein Gedi Hostel is located in a beautiful oasis off the shores of the Dead Sea. The hostel offers a view of the Dead Sea and the fascinating Judean Desert cliffs. This is the perfect place for lovers of desert scenery, adventures and amazing views. There are historic landmarks, hiking and biking trails, a beach, and natural springs in the area. The hostel will make your stay pleasant with comfortable rooms, a free delicious kosher breakfast for guests, and free access to Wi-Fi throughout the hostel.

The dining room can accommodate 250 guests. An Israeli breakfast of salads, fruits and cereals as well as a range of hot dishes is included in the price of the room. Additional meals, including packaged lunches, are available to order in advance. All food is certified Kosher.

Guests have a wide array of facilities at their disposal, including a TV room, internet station, basketball court, storage lockers, drinks vending machines, cinema system and Sefer Torah. Access to the guest house and its facilities is adapted for disabled people.

Seminars, conferences and other events can be held in the guest house, and there are 3 halls with audiovisual equipment for this purpose.

Ein Gedi is one of Israel's most unique and awesome nature attractions, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. An oasis in the desert, near the salty Dead Sea , Ein Gedi's surprising climate and atmosphere makes it a charming site in it of itself. As with many places in Israel, historical significance is also a factor of Ein Gedi's charm, with the area settled some 5,000 years ago by Israelites. Today, Ein Gedi hosts numerous spas with hot springs, mineral springs and mud baths. Containing a rich array of wildlife, the oasis environment houses many notable animals including ibexes, caracals, hyenas and even leopards (which are nearly extinct in Israel).
